Disaster-resistant forest building program

Hyogo promotes disaster-resistant forest building to improve capabilities of rainwater storage and sediment discharge protection by public support for private forest.

  • Hyogo introduced the "Prefectural Green Tax"[2006 started and still continues] which is an additional prefectural resident tax designed to preserve and renew the green environment.
  • Hyogo supported to thin artificial forests by cooperation with municipalities.
